I’m actually really impressed by the formula of this highlighter. It’s a buttery smooth type that can be swiped onto the face right from the stick and then blended really easily with your fingertips. I don’t wear make up usually, but sometimes I like a soft glow to highlight my cheekbones and this really helps me achieve that look with minimal effort.I have been using it alone without other make up on and have had comments about how my skin looks like it’s glowing even though I’m ‘not wearing make up’, which is nice to hear. The colour is a really soft blendable one which isn’t fake looking and works with my skin tone really well, so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing anything topically once it’s blended – which takes about 5 seconds to do since it blends so easily.The only thing I would say is that because it’s so easy to blend, if you happen to touch your face a lot during the day, you are at risk of smudging it accidentally because the formula doesn’t really ‘dry down’ the way a powder based one would, but you can help this by applying some setting powder over the top so long as you don’t mind dulling the glow a little bit.A great little product. Small enough to carry around for on-the-go top-ups and you really don’t need a lot to achieve a noticeable glow. I really like the fact it gives a nice natural colour rather than anything you can spot is fake from a mile off.

I have quite a few highlighters but I was intrigued by this clear one so wanted to try it out to see what kind of effect it gives. It comes in a format that has become really popular over the last year or two, the jelly stick. I like this compact format as it’s easy to apply, handy to keep in my bag and I don’t need any additional tools/brushes to apply it.This jelly stick is slightly firmer than the jelly stick blushes I have but still has a little bit of bounce to it and a moist feel. To use it, just twist it up like a lipstick and lightly swipe it across the areas you want to highlight. When you twist the product up it is, indeed, completely clear and if you apply one swipe you will get a very, very subtle highlight. Just a hint of sheen in the right light. Good for those who like a barely there look or don’t like overly shimmery highlighters. If you want a bit more of a glow you can build it with additional swipes over an area. Interestingly, even though the stick looks completely clear, when I build it up it gives a light champagne colour on my skin with a very subtle shimmer.A good product for enhancing the skin on no makeup days, for adding just a hint of glow to your makeup routine or if you have a job where only minimal makeup is allowed. And, of course, with it being Revolution it’s very affordable.

I have other make up from this brand and consistently love their products even though I don’t think it’s targeted at women in my age range! They all just work so well. This is the same. It’s a small, fat, lipstick like tube with a clear roll up hard gel.I just pat a little onto areas that I want to highlight and it gives a wonderful, natural looking sheen. Skin looks hydrated and it looks more natural than applying powder highlighter. You can’t tell your wearing make up at all.There’s no visible glitter or colour. It just gives shine and the ILLUSION that you have moist, wonderfully hydrated skin and emphasizes that area, like cheekbones. It is slightly tacky but not greasy.I love this. So easy to use, so effective. And very good value. This little tube will last me ages the way I’m using.Highly recommend if you want that glass look. Now I know how they do it!

I ordered the new Glass Halo highlighter in clear. I don’t wear highlighter on my cheeks, but I am using it on my inner eyes and to highlight my brows and Cupid’s bow. It leaves a smooth, glossy sheen on your skin. It gives that wet glassy skin look that’s so popular right now. It dries almost immediately and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or greasy. It comes in a convenient twist-up tube that’s compact and perfect for travelling with. For £5.99, it’s well worth the price.

I have to say this Revolution Glass Halo Highlighter Stick is one of the strangest products I have ever tried. It looks exactly like a transparent glue stick when you twist it up, which is a bit off putting to begin with. When I applied it, I did get a bit of a dewy shine, but it mostly just made my makeup look messy and smudged underneath.It feels like a bit of a “white elephant” in my makeup bag because I just can’t figure out the best way to use it. If you put it on top of foundation, it seems to just break down the base and leave you looking a bit greasy rather than radiant. I suspect it might be better applied directly onto bare skin after your skincare routine for a very natural “wet look” glow, but even then, it is a very subtle effect.The formula is quite nice and hydrating since it has peptides and vitamin E, so it doesn’t feel drying at all. It is just a shame that it doesn’t play well with other products. Unless you are going for a completely “no makeup” look, it feels like more of a faff than it is worth.
