One of my favorite exfoliant facial washes ever!
I love this brand, I own a lot of their different products & this is one of my all-time favorite facial washes! It gently exfoliates with black sugar crystals that end up melting into your skin & leave it feeling moisturized & clean but not oily or over drying either! It creates a wonderful foam & you don’t need a lot of it! The tube is nice sized too! I have the matching facial scrub & they work awesome together! I use this every day & it doesn’t contain Salicylic Acid in it! It smells SO good, just like the facial scrub!!! It’s safe for my oily, acne prone skin & the sugar crystal don’t irritate my skin or break me out either! I love this product & I recommend it too, especially with the matching facial sugar scrub!!!!

This stuff is GREAT!
I don’t really write reviews, but I’m making an exception for this. First off, I’m a guy, bloke, dude, fellow. I have a beard (really it’s just slightly managed stubble). My skin likes to be difficult, so some parts of my face (this includes most of my head given that I shave my head) gets really flakey dry skin. The rest is normal to slightly oily. I started using this scrub about a week ago.First, it smells nice and isn’t overwhelming nor does the smell linger. It took a bit to get used to applying it. You put a dab in your hand and apply water. It feels very rough to start and I was concerned that I’d damage my skin. If you take a bit of time work it between your hands it builds up a nice lather with just a hint of “scrub”. Now I use this stuff on my entire head – face, beard, neck, head (the bits with and without hair) and give myself a good massage with it.Let me tell you my skin now is as soft as a babies butt and seems to have a bit more clarity and glow to it. The dry, flakey skin is now gone and overall my face looks younger. I’ve gotten compliments from a number of friends. So, I’m very happy. Bottom line for other men – this stuff is great. It also helps with shaving and ingrown hairs. Don’t be afraid to use it.

Basically Cured My Chronic Dry Skin and Acne
So firstly I have struggled with sensitive/dry skin and acne since middle school. In early high school I started getting piercings. I am now in my mid 20s and have 6 facial piercings. I used to use exfoliating scrubs that had non-dissolvable exfoliants and I can no longer use them due to the piercings (I leave them in while showering and wash them separately with saline/gentle soap). Recently I was still struggling with acne/dry skin and started trying sugar scrubs. They helped, but always disolved too quickly to get a good exfoliation or were in a jar which allowed water to enter and dissolve the sugar.This scrub is MIRACULOUS. The packaging protects the sugar from water and the foaming action distrubutes the sugar for an even exfoliation. My irritated dry skin is cured just from using this for a month (in combination with my regular moisturizer) and my acne is almost gone for the first time since my early teens. I feel so much more confident and comfortable, my skin is soft, clear and hydrated. Highly recommend this product for clogged pores and dry skin. The fact that the exfoliant (sugar) dissolves is a major plus with my piercings, and leaves less of a mess in my shower. It also seems to be gradually lightening my acne scars. Great value for the money and I still have a ton left even after using regularly for a month!

Great product but poor packaging
This was my second time purchasing the product. It works great as usual. My only issue is after few times of using, the tube bursted open from the top end. And now I have to find another container before everything dries out…..

I just love Skinfood products
Skinfood is an excellent brand for sensitive and acne-prone skin. I have been using their black sugar cleansing foam for a little over two years and it’s my go-to winter cleanser. Lately, I’ve felt like my skin could use a little more exfoliation and I’m skeptical about most face scrubs. I decided to give their black sugar scrub a try.I like to use face scrubs in the shower because they’re much easier to remove that way. This scrub has a substantial texture due to the presence of actual sugar crystals, which can be a little rough at first. However, they quickly dissolve after a few moments of exfoliating.My skin felt clean but not stripped after using, and I didn’t experience any signs of sensitivity or irritation. I think this would be a good product to use around twice weekly.

The best!
Both my husband and I love this scrub, it’s all we use. It’s gentle enough to use daily but gritty enough to make your skin feel exfoliated. The sugar crystals dissolve and it creates foam like suds, which is great because normally with a thick exfoliant scrub you would fallow up with your normal face wash. I personally even use it on my upper arms, chest and thighs, anywhere I need to buff away dead skin or those pesky little KP bumps. I have combo skin, same with my husband. Oily in the spring and summer, dry in the fall and winter. This has never dried my skin out, but I always moisturize daily, and recommend it.

Great scrub, terrible packaging (top seam burst second time using product)
I like this scrub. It feels like it’s doing a good job exfoliating, and I like the way it smells. HOWEVER, the second time I used the scrub the top seam burst. I was looking through the reviews for this product and it appears that others have experienced this as well. Based on my experience with the packaging, I definitely won’t be purchasing this product again.

Exfoliates and moisturizes
I’ve bought this product multiple times. It works really well as a moisturizing exfoliation for my dry skin. Nothing else I’ve tried has come close.

I have been repurchasing this foam scrub for maybe 5 years now. I mostly rely on chemical exfoliates for my skincare but this face wash is gentle enough it doesn’t bother my rosacea, it’s not really a foaming cleanser in my opinion, feels more creamy with grainy rather than beads for the scrub.I use it a couple of times a week usually, but more when hair wants to grow back between electrolysis sessions.My SkinNormalAgeing (43)Rosacea (but not sensitive)
