    What is a Gommage?

Gommage is a type of enzymatic or peel-off exfoliator that gently removes dead skin cells without physical scrubbing. Unlike traditional scrubs, it rolls away impurities as it dries, making it ideal for sensitive or delicate skin.

What’s the difference between a gommage and a scrub?

Gommage uses enzymes or gentle peeling action to lift dead skin cells without abrasive particles, making it best for sensitive skin. Scrubs contain physical exfoliants that manually slough off dead skin and can be harsher on the skin.

Is a gommage good for your skin?

Yes. Gommage exfoliators are gentler than scrubs, making them suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin. They help unclog pores, improve texture, and enhance product absorption without causing irritation.

How often should I use gommage?

For most skin types, 1–2 times per week is ideal. Over-exfoliation can cause dryness or irritation, so adjust frequency based on your skin’s needs.

    Is gommage a mechanical exfoliant?

No, gommage is typically a chemical or enzymatic exfoliant, though some formulas provide mild physical action when massaged. Sonage’s formula gently lifts dead skin without harsh abrasion.

#1 exfoliating in my eyes. Will be purchasing again
I’ve tried a lot of exfoliating scrubs over the years, and nothing compares to this one—it’s honestly the best on the market. What really sets this apart is how it actually works. Unlike so many other scrubs that either feel too harsh or just clump up and sit on your skin, this one truly removes dead skin. You can literally see and feel it lifting away impurities as you use it, leaving your face instantly smoother and refreshed. The formula is super gentle but still effective, which is rare. Most exfoliators either irritate your skin or don’t do much at all—but this hits the perfect balance. It doesn’t scratch or damage your skin, and it leaves you with that clean, polished feeling without dryness. After using it, my skin feels softer, looks brighter, and has that healthy glow that’s hard to get from other products. It also preps your skin really well for serums and moisturizers, making everything you use after work even better.

Exfoliates extremely well and leaves skin soft. I recommend highly.
This product exfoliates beautifully without breakouts. If you apply too much pressure, it can cut the skin up pretty bad. So be sure to be relatively gentle. It is an excellent exfoliator. I definitely recommend and will continue to order.

      Excellent Product
I used this product as a Skin Care Specialist on clients. I have been out of the Skin Care industry for a while. I am now using the product on myself and love the improvements on this skin care line. I am 68 years old and my skin looks radiant.

Like This For Hydration But Incredibly Expensive
First off, the directions were kind of confusing. Does it exfoliate or does it hydrate? Apparently, it does both. The trick is, the longer you leave this clear gel on your skin, the more hydration you’ll receive. There’s barely any scent to this and the very tiny bit that I did pick up was pleasant. That was only while applying the mask to my face. It seems very clean and good for all skin types. Obviously, those with drier skin would do best to go for the long treatment. It cleans well and hydrates nicely. A good start before you go on to apply the rest of your skincare products for the day.I do really like this gel, but it’s way out of my price range when you consider how very small the tube is and how much they tell you to use. Add the price on that, and it’s just exorbitant. In this case, a little does not go a long way. You are supposed to use a lot from a very small tube. You’ll be through that tube well before a month is done, maybe two weeks.

      its a NO for me
this stuff smells awful!! honestly, it smells like straight up cleaning chemicals! I dont know who the genius was that decided thats what it should smell like, but they really dropped the ball. even if this stuff didnt dry out my skin that ISNT sensitive, the odor coming off my face would be enough for me not to ever use this product again. it was also really hard to squeeze it out of the tube… not that that matters. I hope this was helpful.

      Sonage Exfoliating Gel
I thought this product was just ok. First off it has some consumer friendly issues. The directions are on the box but not the product. For some reason the front and back of the tube are exactly the same. So you either have to save the box or remember the directions.I like info on products I am using, especially when it’s going on my skin so I checked out their website. Their website is pretty but weak. No information on the company members, scientists etc. Also the company only takes returns if items are purchased at their site…which is understandable BUT they will only take a return if it is unopened, has a special return label and even then it is subject to a restocking fee. HELLO that sounds like a company who is not to sure you will like their products and makes it hard to return. I was however, able to find the full ingredients list on the gel product. I ran it through a cosmetics checker and it seems most of the ingredients are safe. See below for list.Next the product itself. This exfoliating gel can be used two ways; as a quick 1-2 minute exfoliation or as a 20 minute mask. I opted for the first one and good thing because I was a bit put off by the very chemical smell. Not good. It was easy on and off though. After I thought my skin looked as usual. I guess it takes time to see results. Overall not the best first impression.Ingredients list Sonage Gommage Exfoliating Gel from the company website: water, glycerin, sorbitan oleate decylglucoside crosspolymer, hydrogenated castor oil, ceratonia siliqua (locust bean) gum, cinnamomum camphora (camphor) bark oil, urtica dioica (nettle) extract, citrus aurantifolia (lime) leaf oil, magnesium chloride, disodium salt, sodium chloride, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin
