All summer long we’ve been seeing celebs flock to the hottest haircut of the year, the bob. And as of July 13, we can add Alexandra Daddario to the list. The White Lotus actor took to Instagram to show off her new look, which is none other than the effortlessly chic French bob.
Daddario shared photos of her haircut, plus a time-lapse video of her hairstylist creating the look from start to finish. “Needed a change!!” she wrote in her Instagram caption before thanking her stylist, who she tagged as @hairbender212. It is indeed a dramatic transformation from the longer mid-length hair she’s been wearing lately, with this cut taking off about several inches.
And the haircut isn’t the only change Daddario has made. In a “before” photo, you can see some grays peeping out along her roots, and in an “after” photo, those have been all covered up with dark brown hair dye that her stylist applied all over her scalp and strands. Her French bob makes perfect sense for a summer haircut. In the midst of peak heat and humidity this season, being able to keep cool without long hair is ideal, and you don’t have to worry about keeping your strands out of your face or off your neck and back. Plus, the short haircut couldn’t be more on trend. Daddario joins the ranks of celebrities like Sofia Richie Grainge, Lily Collins, and Jenna Bush Hager, who have also all leaned into the bob.
Hager actually got her bob cut on live TV while cohosting her show Today With Jenna & Friends alongside another White Lotus actor, Leslie Bibb. Bibb’s now-famous “c-nty little bob” took the world by storm on season three of the popular show. Though Bibb’s cut is much shorter than the French bob Daddario is wearing, we love to see fellow White Lotus actors leaning into the trend.
