NBA star Stephen Curry may be proud of his four championship rings, but off the court, it’s his four children that matter most. The Golden State Warriors point guard and his wife Ayesha Curry, a cookbook author and businesswoman, are parents to daughters Riley and Ryan and sons Canon and Caius.
The couple have known each other since they were teenagers attending the same church youth group in Charlotte, North Carolina. They reconnected in Los Angeles years later, while Ayesha was acting and modeling and Steph was in town for the ESPYs.
Ayesha jokingly revealed to People in 2020 that she had a ‘no athletes’ policy before Steph. “My parents found this paper from my high school theater class where you had to write down what you wanted in a significant other,” she recalled. “At the bottom, it said, ‘No athletes, because they’re arrogant.’”
Her future husband proved the exception. The pair wed in June 2011 after three years of dating. In 2012, they welcomed their first child, daughter Riley. Three years later, they had another baby girl named Ryan. Their sons, Canon and Caius, arrived in 2018 and 2024, respectively.

Despite being raised by an 11-time NBA All-Star, Curry’s kids weren’t always all that impressed by their dad. “I don’t think they care too much about how many times the ball goes in the basket,” he told E! News in 2022, adding later that “when you’re at home you’re just Dad, and that’s the best part about it.”
As his kids have gotten older, however, the tide seems to be turning. Then-12-year-old Riley and mom Ayesha cheered on the Warriors at the April game that secured the team’s spot in the 2025 NBA playoffs. After the win, Steph shared a precious moment with his eldest daughter, walking up to the bleachers to give her a high five.
From having one of basketball’s greatest love stories to raising four adorable kids together, Steph and Ayesha Curry have proven themselves a perfect team. Here’s everything to know about their four children.
Riley Elizabeth Curry

Steph and Ayesha became parents for the first time in 2012, welcoming daughter Riley Elizabeth Curry on July 19 of that year.
At just 2 years old, Riley was already going viral. The precocious tot tagged along with her father to a press conference during the 2015 NBA finals and easily stole the spotlight. From laughing and yawning to telling Steph, “You’re too loud, daddy,” and, “Be quiet,” she became the true star of the night.
A young Riley also made appearances on her mother’s Food Network series, Ayesha’s Home Kitchen, which aired from 2016 to 2017. She’s since taken after Ayesha in the cooking department, with the mom telling People “[Riley] can throw down in the kitchen already,” in June 2022. The then-9-year-old wowed her family by making chicken piccata from scratch. “She did it from start to finish and it was absolutely delicious. I was so proud I could cry,” Ayesha said.

The eldest Curry child takes after Steph, too. In 2023, the NBA legend shared with People that after introducing his kids to “pretty much every sport,” his daughter became “super into volleyball” and loves to practice.
In the same interview, Steph said it was “cool” to watch Riley find her passion and ”see that light bulb go off and that level of focus, that you see a little bit of yourself in. And [I’m] trying to encourage that as much as possible.”
Riley officially became a teenager in 2025, turning 13. Ayesha shared a series of throwback photos of her eldest daughter to Instagram to celebrate the milestone birthday. “And just like that she’s THIRTEEN! Leaving it at that because @stephencurry30 and I are still processing. We love our Riley Roo,” the proud mom captioned her post.
Ryan Carson Curry

Riley became a big sister when her parents welcomed their second child, daughter Ryan Carson Curry, on July 10, 2015.
The NBA All-Star shared the news on his Instagram with a picture of Riley and Ayesha holding Ryan. “I’m wayyyyy up I feel Blessed! God is Great,” Curry captioned the post, going on to thank his wife’s doctor and the hospital staff. “Healthy baby and @ayeshacurry is all I prayed for. #prouddaddy,” he added.
Like Riley, Ryan’s been cheering on her father almost since she could walk. Just before her 3rd birthday, she joined her parents and grandfather Dell Curry on the championship parade when the Golden State Warriors nabbed their third NBA title in four years.
In 2022, she was in the stands rooting for her father as his team fought to secure another victory in the year’s NBA Finals. After game five, Steph walked up to Ryan to give her a high five—a moment he’d recreate with Riley three years later, proving his girls are always his biggest cheerleaders.

Beyond basketball, Ryan’s also stepped out for glamorous events with her family. In 2019, she and Riley joined their parents on the red carpet for the live-action The Lion King world premiere.
On Ryan’s 10th birthday in 2025, Ayesha took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute post for her younger daughter. “I can’t believe she’s double digits. Truly feels like we blinked and here we are. Always my baby girl. My Ryan,” she captioned the post.
Commenters were quick to point out Ryan’s resemblance to another member of the Curry family: Steph’s sister, Sydel. The post included a photo of Ryan hugging her mom, holding up a peace sign while out to dinner, and smiling in a cute throwback baby picture.
Canon W. Jack Curry

Steph and Ayesha welcomed their first son, Canon W. Jack Curry, on July 2, 2018. His name has special meaning for the couple, who picked it out on their honeymoon.
“France is one of our favorite places to vacation, and so his name’s actually French and it means young wolf, which Stephen loved because we kind of consider ourselves a wolf pack,” the Full Plate cookbook author told People in November 2018.
Unlike his sisters, Canon didn’t clock his father’s basketball career quite as quickly, for reasons Ayesha explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021. “For the longest time actually, he thought his dad was a golfer because of the pandemic and there was no basketball in season,” she shared. “So he’s just now realizing that his dad and his uncles play basketball. So that’s been exciting for us.”
One year later, Canon accompanied his dad to game five of the 2022 NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals. Post-game, Steph held his trophy in one hand and cradled Canon in the other as he walked off the court.
Canon turned 7 in 2025, and Ayesha of course made an Instagram post celebrating her eldest son. “He is the most passionate, empathetic and head strong human being I’ve ever met,” she captioned a photo of him pretending to fly in a jetpack costume. “I can’t believe God blessed me with the privilege of being his mama. 🥰🥹”

The Currys became a family of six when they welcomed their fourth child, son Caius Chai Curry, on May 11, 2024. Ayesha had previously revealed the news of her pregnancy in a cover story for Sweet July, her lifestyle magazine.
Caius’ arrival was planned by the couple so Steph would be free to compete in the Paris Olympics in July and August 2024, the point guard shared with the Associated Press. It all worked out: Caius and his big brother Canon were in the stands with Ayesha to see their father win the gold medal with the USA men’s basketball team.
The littlest Curry adorably matched with his siblings and parents in the family’s 2024 Christmas photos, which Steph shared to his Instagram. “Love to all! From the Currys,” he wrote in the caption of the post.
