Tonight, the 2025 Emmys celebrated some of the year’s best television series and ensemble casts. Comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the glitzy awards ceremony, while nominated shows included some of the buzziest programs of the past year—including The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, Severance, Hacks, and The White Lotus, among many others. Even better yet? All of the A-list actors who partook in the evening (and walked the paparazzi-filled red carpet). After all, nominated stars include Ayo Edebiri, Cate Blanchett, Colman Domingo, Parker Posey—the list of Hollywood royalty goes on and on.
Shortly before the trophies were handed out on stage, celebrities were sure to walk the red carpet in their finest formalwear. Tonight, the best-dressed stars were those who embraced formal glamour—and took unexpected risks, too. Highlights included Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, who delivered one of the best couple moments of the evening (Gomez in a custom Louis Vuitton red gown with a sweeping train). Jenna Ortega went avant-garde in her Givenchy naked dress, sporting a bodice made entirely out of oversized bijouxs. Chloë Sevigny chose to subvert Old Hollywood style in her black Saint Laurent gown. “I’ve always loved fashion with a point of view—whether it’s referencing the archives, or something more avant-garde,” Sevigny told Vogue of her look.
As for the standout gentleman of the night, Colman Domingo—ever the red carpet star—looked dapper in his refined take on suiting, via a powder-blue Valentino suit with crystal embroidery. White Lotus star Sam Nivola wore a Dior tuxedo with a floral-printed waistcoat—a more whimsical take on dressing for a Hollywood awards ceremony. Why be so stuffy when you can have fun? That was the spirit of the night–and these were just a few of the winning moments.
