On the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, many guests’ true colors shone through.
While many guests opted for neutrals to channel Greek and Roman antiquities or nude bodies, others ran toward bold, bright hues. It’s no surprise that primary colors—the foundation of any artist’s palette—were abundant on the carpet.
While vermillion and ochre were popular picks, the winner of the night was undoubtedly Yves Klein blue. Hailey Bieber paired a gold Saint Laurent bustier with an ultramarine column skirt and scarf, while Tessa Thompson dipped her fingers in ultramarine to match her Valentino dress.
And speaking of Valentino… Alessandro Michele may just be responsible for the most colorful group of the night. Lena Dunham wore a red beaded and feathered dress inspired by the blood spatter in Artemisia Gentileschi’s Judith Slaying Holofernes; Tyla embraced her inner peacock in a vibrant teal skirt; and Colman Domingo welcomed all colors in a multicolored harlequinesque look.
Here, revisit the bold pops of color that dotted the 2026 Met Gala red carpet, from Sarah Pidgeon and Alexa Chung’s chartreuse satins to Kim Kardashian’s tangerine breastplate.
