Zara Larsson continues to explore the animal kingdom and the beauty of nature via her eye makeup, but the latest installment in the pop star’s ongoing glam series is gracefully floating atop the water, not swimming underneath it—or maybe delicately dancing its way across the stage in a production of the legendary ballet Swan Lake? Either way, it’s yet another hit in the Zara Larsson and Sophia Sinot canon, and we’re obsessed.
Pop star and makeup artist have been turning out consistently surprising and breathtakingly beautiful makeup looks as Larsson travels the world performing at various festivals. For the Superbloom Festival in Bavaria, the pair skipped the sea creatures in favor of a swan-inspired eye. Sinot applied a pure white shade all over Larsson’s eye real estate, spanning from her lids to the arch of her brow and outward, with the “wings” nearly brushing her temples. According to Sinot, she used the Mehron Paradise Makeup AQ Palette to paint the wings, which began at the crease and continued downwards beneath her lower lashline, resembling a swan about to take flight.
To represent the bird’s beak, Sinot applied a bright orange color at the inner corners, and to mimic its unique black eye shape, she defined the eye with tightlined black eyeliner in the lower and upper lashline, then added a pair of fluffy false lashes at the midpoint of Larsson’s lashline, further enhancing the upward-facing motion of the makeup. A smattering of rhinestones were applied across Larsson’s forehead, over the bridge of her nose, and atop her cheekbones for an additional flight of fancy.
Fans and followers continue to beg for a coffee table book of all the looks Larsson and Sinot have created during this now-legendary glam run. And come to think of it, there are a whole lotta beautiful birds they haven’t tapped for inspo yet… what’s next? May we suggest a scarlet macaw or a cheeky little goldfinch?
