Among those being celebrated at the 83rd edition of the Venice Film Festival are George Clooney and Ellen Burstyn—recipients of the Golden Lion for lifetime achievement—and one Nicola Peltz Beckham. The actor was presented with the Rising Star award at the Kinéo Awards over the weekend, an independent ceremony that has coincided with the film festival since 2002, though it has no official affiliation with the international gathering.
“In recent years, the American actress, screenwriter, and producer has attracted growing international attention thanks to increasingly multifaceted roles,” reads an Instagram post shared by the awards, “both in front of and behind the camera.” (And then there is, of course, the not insignificant amount of attention that came from a certain recent feud.)

The actor, producer, filmmaker, and scion arrived at the Kinéo Awards in one of the festival’s most head-turning looks thus far: a deep-purple, one-shouldered Balenciaga gown with a hood, a twisted, scarf-like bodice, and a ruched, drop-waist skirt that flared into a voluminous, carpet-scraping train. Beside her stood a shaggy-haired Brooklyn in a black tuxedo and polished monk-strap shoes, tending to his wife’s flyaways, holding her hand, and planting kisses on her cheek as the cameras flashed.
Much the same display had unfolded the previous evening, when the couple attended the Golden Globes x Aman Beverly Hills cocktail party—though the PDAs should come as little surprise. “She changed my whole life around,” Brooklyn told British Vogue in 2025. “She’s my best friend, and being married to her is like a never-ending playdate. I fall more in love with her more and more every day. Find that one person, hold onto them, and never let go. It is the most important thing you can do.”
The night marked a rare red-carpet appearance for the couple, who have kept a relatively low-profile in recent months, save for an appearance at Elton John’s Oscars viewing party in March. And yet there is only so long that anonymity can appeal to two people who have scarcely known anything else. (Nicola’s Rising Star award arrives 20 years after she made her screen debut, aged 11, in the Christmas comedy Deck the Halls; Brooklyn has been famous since his baby pictures appeared in OK! magazine.)
It seems the time that Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham have taken away from the spotlight might now have reached its conclusion.
