For its fifth edition, PhMuseum Days 2026 disseminates a programme of exhibitions, screenings, talks, workshops and independent publishing across the city of Bologna, under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Oliverio. This year, the festival takes the archipelago as its curatorial thread: a way of thinking about photography as a constellation of distinct practices, each with its own terrain, yet connected by the waters between them. Rather than gathering around a single centre, the program unfolds across a network of spaces throughout Bologna, inviting audiences to drift between exhibitions, encounters and different ways of making and seeing images

At the heart of the festival is new space of Ex Ospedale dei Bastardini, where solo exhibitions by Max Pinckers, Jonah Samson, Daniel MartÃnez, Allegra Baggio Corradi, Federico Clavarino, Robin Alysha Clemens and Francisco Cantón will be presented alongside a screening of twenty projects selected through the PhMuseum open call. At the Cortile dell’Archiginnasio, the collective exhibition Archipelago will bring together forty international artists selected through the same open call, displayed on nautical fabric banners within one of Bologna’s most recognisable historic spaces. Further across the city, Caro Mirzoyan will take over CHEAP’s public billboards, while Cintia Tortosa Santisteban will present her work at PhMuseum Lab, and exhibitions by Benedetta Fioravanti and Roman Manfredi will be hosted by Sala Berti and Spazio Labo’, respectively.
