As the Milan shows draw to a close and the Fashion Week circuit turns toward Paris, spring 2027’s beauty picture is beginning to come into focus. In New York, the mood was polished but playful: Low ponytails appeared again and again; metallic finishes caught the light across lids, skin, and hair, while sheer and glossy manicures provided a cleaner counterpoint. Milan carried some of that interest in shine and texture across the pond, but loosened things up.
Throughout the week, beauty was affected by the world around it—a distinctly Italian way of being. Hair was teased, loosened, slicked close to the head, or left with visible movement; complexions carried more color; and eye makeup became noticeably more expressive. At Missoni, pigment stretched across the cheeks and nose for a lived-in flush, while Sportmax pushed gloss across both skin and hair. Antonio Marras and The Attico embraced smudged pigments, unruly textures, and finishes that seemed changed by the heat and dynamism of spring-summer nights out.
There was also some serious decoration. At Giorgio Armani, eye makeup was elongated and smoky, while Marco Rambaldi played with graphic shapes around the eyes. There was glitter and embellishment that acted more like accessories. Elsewhere, deep red and burgundy tones kept surfacing across lips, cheeks, and liner, giving the season a richer color story than the barely there beauty that has dominated in recent years.

The prettiest complexion trend in Milan caught the last embers of summer. At Missoni, cheeks and the bridge of the nose were worked with a deep burgundy cream blush to mimic a post-sun flush. At Missoni and Alberta Ferretti, it felt bohemian and wind-bitten. At Max Mara, makeup artist Lisa Butler lightly pinched the cheeks first, observed the skin’s natural hue, and built the tone again with Nars’s water-based blushes. At Giorgio Armani, Hiromi Ueda kept things harmonious with one natural shade on the high cheekbones and lips, using Armani Beauty.
