After unveiling “Edén” last March, Juan Vidal returned to that world to explore what comes next. At The Palace Hotel in Madrid, he presented “El Segundo Edén,” his new capsule. The collection took a more athletic direction than his previous work and was created in collaboration with two Spanish brands: S’more and Hispanitas.
“El Segundo Edén” picked up the codes of the previous collection and moved them into a more graphic, urban space. “The pomegranate returns without color, alongside new codes, bold volumes, and elements from the world of sports,” the designer explained. “We felt the story of Edén could keep growing, we wanted to extend its visual language, take some of its symbols somewhere new.”
The result was a series of oversized pieces. The standout was a full skirt built from cuts, godets, and structural panels that recalled the facets of a diamond. It appeared alongside generously proportioned shirts and menswear-inspired blazers. The palette was bold and built around contrast, unexpected pairings, and mixed references. “The biggest challenge was bringing together languages that seem opposed: craft and technology, rigidity and stretch, ceremony and sportswear. But that tension became the collection’s biggest opportunity. Once they meet, both worlds change and create something new,” said Vidal.
