I suffer from hormonal acne at 29 years old
I have polycystic ovary syndrome, which causes uncontrollable hormonal acne. I get one pimple a month or less, but then I get four to seven, and they keep coming back. I was tired of looking for something to help, and this salicylic acid has done the trick. I apply a small amount to the affected areas before going to sleep, and the next morning when I wake up and wash my face, I noticeably see a reduction in my acne.

It’s working its magic with SA/Witch Hazel/Glycerin
Skin issues:I use SA three days a week because I have the bumpiest forehead with the culprit being the pore clogging foundation I was using, it’s a love/hate cycle. Such good coverage but the breakouts are consistent even with a good cleanser I needed a BHA. I am making diet changes & cleaning my brushes more often. Still I get angry whiteheads and non-fungal forehead bumps with poor texture overall.Personal usage history:I use rx tretinoin .05% for the last 3 years. It’s just okay for my breakouts. I have been concurrently using CeraVe SA for a month and it burns even after letting my skin dry for 20 minutes after cleansing so I’ve been on the hunt. Previously I had decent results from TO’s glycolic acid toner & rosehip oil during 2022 but after 6 months I started having more whiteheads from the rosehip oil then switched to tret. I use pimple patches for my whiteheads without any actives so I can get the gunk out before treating. I have pretty slow to heal skin but I have patience too.I need something that I can reliably apply at bedtime and rinse in the morning. Short contact is better with benzoyl peroxide for me personally. This formula is fantastic for clinging well, the viscosity is impeccable! It is on par with TO’s ingredients that aren’t photosensitive & I appreciate the frosted glass jar(light breaks down skincare readily).I started with an 8hr patch test and all was fine. I’ve been using this serum every other day for 1 week. I have to start slow and watch for purging. It is slowly healing a cheek bump and improving my forehead so two points for an effective formula. I think there’s value in NOT using an SA that burns first and foremost. Pain is not gain for my sensitive skin. I also want to try this for my ingrown prone areas post waxing. I wear tights/leggings when I run and the friction is definitely adding to my trapped hairs occurrence along my bikini line.Photos:INCIDecoder breakdown; One half of a dropper in hand; I swiped one dropper full directly onto my cheek(not touching the skin) to show viscosity.I plan to follow up at the 30 day mark and update photos and any valuable information 😉

Highly recommended!
This serum gently exfoliates without causing any irritation. My pores appear tighter, and I’ve noticed a reduction in breakouts. It leaves my skin smoother and makes makeup application a breeze.

Great for Sensitive, Acne-Prone Skin
This salicylic acid treatment is non-irritating and works amazingly well. My acne has cleared up noticeably, and my skin looks much healthier.

I use this on my scalp
I will start off by saying that I did try this on my face, as intended, for this review, but that’s not why I ordered it. I actually ordered it for my scalp. Salicylic acid can help with seborrheic dermatitis by helping with exfoliation and I was having a flare up. I went with this because it has a dropper that makes scalp application MUCH easier! This not only has salicylic acid in it, but also contains some skin barrier healing ingredients, like glycerin. It only took one application for my scalp to feel relief, and 3 applications for my seborrheic dermatitis to completely subside! I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t make my hair look greasy, that was an added bonus. As far as facial use, it was also really good! It absorbed well and made my skin feel great! It is also fragrance free which is great if you have sensitive skin. This serum is well worth every penny! I’ve used brands that cost way more than this and honestly, this works just as well as they do! I’m impressed!

Purchased item because of the simple ingredients listed in the description. But upon receiving item, saw the full listing of ingredients on package that doesn’t match the online ingredient list. I’m disappointed with the deceptive advertising. And I am not comfortable using on my face. Will be returning.

Full Coverage, but a Little Goes a Long Way
This formula is seriously thick—just a small dab covered a lot of area. That said, I learned quickly that more isn’t always better here. Using too much can overly dry out skin, so I’d recommend starting with less than you think you need, and using only where necessary. Best for those who want targeted acne or resurfacing.
